Black Swimming Association learn to swim sessions at Britannia Leisure Centre

Summer is approaching, and as the temperatures rise, the water running through our borough looks inviting, but feeling safe close to water is really important.

If you have never learned to swim or are extremely nervous around water, we'd like to talk to you about your concerns with a view to expanding the water safety and beginners swimming sessions already on offer in the borough.

We all have different reasons for not being able to swim and this is an opportunity to discuss those barriers that may have put you off in the past in a friendly session with the Black Swimming Association who have years of experience in teaching black and other diverse communities how to swim and building confidence around water safety.

If you would like to take part in a small focus group of local people to share how you feel about swimming, please get in touch on moving.together@hackney.gov.uk or 0208 356 7030.

As a thank you for taking the time to share your views, each person who joins the discussion will receive a £20 ‘Love to Shop’ voucher.
