Explore some quiet and interesting local walking routes

Walking as part of your daily routine is the easiest way to stay healthy and active, and in our last two surveys on physical activity habits, residents mentioned walking as the way that they are most likely to be active.

In response to this, we've teamed up with Footways from London Living Streets to design some routes which connect King's Park with a range of other destinations.

The routes are full of history, beauty and information on the area, so there will be plenty of things to see and nature to enjoy along the way. Footways is dedicated to making London one of the world’s best cities for walking and enjoying public spaces.

The routes are available on the free Go Jauntly App. Google "Go Jauntly" or go straight to the App store you usually use, and download the Go Jauntly App to your Android or IPhone. You can create an account or skip that stage completely and just choose the walk you want to try.

Once you've downloaded the App, you can go straight to our first two routes, just search ‘Clapton Estate to Hackney Central’ or ‘King's Park to Westfield’. You can also get printed copies of the walks from Bella and Ayan on a Wednesday morning from Kingsmead Kabin.

If you give permission for the App to track your location (you don’t have to do this to use the app) you'll be able to see all walks nearby, wherever you are in London or further afield on your travels. We'll be adding more local routes soon so keep checking the App for further details and do tell us what you think of them.

Walking is like a miracle cure for our physical and mental health and there are many more quiet and interesting walking routes across Hackney just waiting to be explored.
