December 2024 Reading List - A Warm Welcome

Our reading list this December focuses on books about different experiences of migration and immigrant and refugee life. Every story is different, as no two journeys are the same.

Hackney is a borough with a rich history of migration from all over the world. It is also made up of compassionate communities who welcome those seeking refuge and asylum. At Hackney Libraries we offer welcoming spaces for visitors all year round, but in these winter months our libraries become warm spaces for all who need them.

As the temperature drops, we have started up our yearly Kind Coats scheme again. If you have any spare warm coats, drop them off and if you need a warm coat, take one home.
