Lockdown Poetry Workshop Anthology Launch

  • Dalston CLR James Library London, England, E8 3DD United Kingdom (map)

Join us for the launch of Lockdown Poetry Workshop Anthology, a collection of poems by writers from Hackney Libraries Lockdown Poetry Group. The group began during the Covid-19 Pandemic, founded by Writer and Librarian Jack Houston, as a relaxed and welcoming online space for people to discover contemporary poetry and share their own poems.

The launch takes place on Covid-19 Day of Reflection, a day for us to remember loved ones and reflect on the impact of the pandemic. Join us on Sunday 9 March from 2pm to 4pm at Dalston CLR James Library to hear readings from the anthology.

Jack Houston is a writer and public librarian from London. His poetry has been shortlisted for the 2017 Basil Bunting and 2018 Keats-Shelley Prizes, and has appeared in publications including Blackbox Manifold, Magma, The Morning Star, The Rialto, Poetry London and Stand. His short fiction was shortlisted for the 2020 Brick Lane Bookshop Prize and the 2020 BBC National Short Story Award. He lives in Hackney with his partner and their three children, two goldfish and a stick insect.

The Lockdown Poetry Group meets online at 6:00pm on Thursdays. To join, email jack.houston@hackney.gov.uk
