Come and join St Michael and All Angels for the debut screening of the film Breaking Barriers: Honouring Hackney Windrush Entrepreneurs telling the story of three members of the Windrush Generation who overcame multiple barriers to become entrepreneurs.

A Wind Rush of Creative Experiences gets set to host workshops based on Caribbean Arts (Art, dance, drama, film, and music).
Island To Island
A free creative workshop discovering the connections of the Islands of the Caribbean and how those from the diaspora have flourished here. Pondering memories that shape us, how do we create identities and form new connections in places? Discover how to visualise your memories and, working with this year’s Windrush Amplified Art Grant winner Artist Wayne Snooze, create an image together using a simple screen print ready to take home.

No experience required. Limited spaces available (this will be a small group of 12 people) please only book if you are able to make it. Materials provided. The location is wheelchair accessible.
All In the Same Boat
Project ‘All in the same boat’ explores the forgotten story of 66 Polish war refugees who arrived in the UK on the Empire Windrush boat. All ages are welcome to join for a series of events involving film screenings, map explorations, art making and poetry.
We will uncover this unknown chapter of history and reflect on stories of displacement.
THE MIGHTY RULER SOUND SYSTEM Exhibition & Documentary - THE RETURN TO HACKNEY
The historic sound system, crafted by the late “Count Rob,” which once graced blues dances across London, is making a triumphant return to Hackney.
For a limited time, it will be on display at the Hackney Archives, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in its rich musical legacy.
