differently various at Shoreditch Library is part of four differently various in different spaces exhibitions, bringing artwork and events to local centres in the 13 boroughs Headway serve.

Shoreditch Library: 25 April - 24 July

Enjoy beautiful art by Submit to Love studio artists, meet local Headway East London members and learn about their stories and experience of life after brain injury. You will be greeted by the vivid figures of I all screwed up by Jason Ferry, while inside focuses on multimedia and text-based artworks. Inspired by Headway members taking a smoke break, Survivor’s Corner is a relaxing space inviting visitors to discover more about members’ journeys and Headway community through a curated film reel. This area also showcases the graphic text works of Tony Allen and Tony Brooks.

Don’t miss the opportunity to learn about personal stories of members with What is it like to live with a brain injury, a collaborative collection of embroidered textiles, and the intimate podcast series Who Are You Now?

Music Jam

Thursday 30 May 11am to 12pm

A freestyle, spontaneous jam session in the style of Headway East London’s much-loved day centre music groups.

Grab an instrument, use your voice, clap your hands – no previous experience or musical ability required. Just turn up!

Writing Group – Thursday 13 June 11am to 12pm

An open writing group where the challenge is to try to write a complete story using approximately one hundred words. Hosted by Headway East London’s Writing Group (also known as “Baby Shoes”), who will choose three story ‘Seeds’ to inspire you to create mini masterpieces. All abilities welcome!

“Constant Change” - a discussion with the Women’s Group of Headway East London – Tuesday 25 June 11-12pm

An open conversation about change, and how it affects our lives. Hosted by Headway East London’s Women’s Group, a diverse group of women living with brain injury, who meet monthly to discuss everything and anything. Join us for a good natter!
