Carnival Day

Hackney Carnival returns on 22nd September 2024. Are you ready?

Get all the info you need to know about the big day from the parade route and timings to the lineup of acts and activities. Check back soon for more updates as they happen!

Parade Map

The street parade will be the highlight of the day and feature eye-catching costumes, soul-stirring music and a spectacle of talents from over 30 parade groups. The parade begins at 12pm and finishes at 5pm.

Route:

  • Paraders will line up on Mentmore Terrace alongside London Fields and turn left into Mare Street (At junction with Ellingford Road) where the parade will officially start

  • They will head towards the Performance Judging area on Mare Street adjacent to the Hackney Town Hall

  • Once through the judging area, parade will continue on Mare Street turning left into Graham Road

  • From Graham Road the parade will turn left into Queensbridge Road

  • From Queensbridge Road the parade will turn left into Albion Drive

  • From Albion Drive the parade will turn left into Lansdowne Road…

  • Continue along Lansdowne Road turning right into Richmond Road…

  • …and take an immediate right turn into London Fields West Side where the parade route will end. All paraders will finish by 5pm.

(A) Town Hall Square

It’s a carnival take-over down at the Hackney Town Hall square. Come see a mix of thrilling street arts, bassy sound systems and live performances from special guests.

Procession Performances 

12:15 - 15:15 - The time and the place to watch Hackney’s legacy carnival groups deliver a three mins showcase for the eyes of our judges! Talking you through the amazing procession will be Kim Walker from the Desmonds TV Series of the 80s with Hackney Carnival’s Artistic Director  Pax Nindi (Junkanew TV).

(B)Town Hall Car Park

No cars. Just vibes. Pull up to the car park - to the right of the Town Hall - for some serious drum and bass.
