What is the Hoxton Fun Palace?

Hoxton Fun Palace is a celebration of local creativity, packed into a day of free activities for all ages. Everyone’s invited to join in the trail of discovery, play, and fun in Hoxton. And look out for complementary cups of tea wherever you go!

Crafts

9am - 4pm at Hoxton Street Market, N1 6SH

Craft stalls and a tea party. Drop in. All ages welcome

11:00am and 12:30pm at Hoxton Hall, 130 Hoxton Street, N1 6SH  

Printmaking with students from New City College, Ninja and Origami workshops with Ura Matsori, and arts with Border Crossings. All ages welcome. Wheelchair accessible. Book your place HERE.

11am - 4pm at  Shoreditch Town Hall, 380 Old Street  London  EC1V 9LT

A family-friendly day of creativity and chat sharing our space with community groups running workshops and activities. Drop in (last entrance is 3.45pm). All ages are welcome. All rooms have step-free access. Find out more.

Film

Storytelling

Our Storytelling Hearts

Come and tell your stories alongside professional disabled writers and directors over cups of tea. We’ll share our stories using writing, drawing, talking, singing, and improvisation with embedded creative access.

Drop-in. Suitable for everyone aged 16+. Wheelchair accessible and the event will be BSL Interpreted. Sight guides will be available on-site to welcome people. Find out more about Graeae Theatre.

Photography

‘Framing Family: Photography Workshop’ 

1pm-4pm at Autograph Gallery, 1 Rivington Place, London EC2A 3BA

Join us for a relaxed, family workshop exploring the making and preservation of personal archives. There will be various guided and independent activities relating to photography, conservation and community.

Drop-in. Final admission at 3.30pm (Autograph's events are popular and booking a time slot is encouraged). All ages are welcome. Autograph is an accessible venue that welcomes people with all types of disabilities. Further access information is available HERE.

Pottery

11am - 5pm at Troy Town Pottery, 156 Hoxton Street, N1 6SH

A fantastical creature-making workshop hosted by Cecily Loveys-Jervoise. Participants will work together to make models of fantastic creatures out of clay and by the end of the day we will have lots of collaboratively made monsters to fire in our kilns. Protective aprons can be provided.

Drop-in. Suitable for children (primary and younger) and young people (11-18 / 24 with SEND). Please note that there is no wheelchair access at present within the pottery. Find out more about Troy Town Pottery.

Singing

11am and 12:30pm at Hoxton Hall Hoxton Hall, 130 Hoxton Street, N1 6SH 

Singing with Sounds like Home Choir (is this participatory?). All ages are welcome.  Wheelchair accessible. Book your place HERE.

History Tour

1.30pm at Shoreditch Town Hall, 380 Old Street, London, EC1V 9LT

Want to learn more about Shoreditch Town Hall? Join a history tour which will take you all around the building and into places never normally open to the public—tickets £2, bookable in advance here or at the door.  Suitable for ages 10+.
